The course is intended for employees in the field of medicine, mainly from the countries of the Western Balkans. The course program allows you to prepare for the exam “Preizkus znanja slovenskega strokovnega jezika za zdravnike” and achieve level C1, which is mandatory for medical specialists. It also provides the necessary knowledge of the Slovenian language to other health workers (B2).

The course is based on a textbook, which is the main source of learning Slovenian as a second foreign language for medical personnel. The course is led by one of the authors of the textbook, Emilija Neshkoska Chretnik.

At the end of the course, the participants can take the exams to obtain the certificate of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia (Zdravniška zbornica Slovenije). The certificate is one of the requirements for filling professional positions in Slovenia, equivalent to the professional education obtained in your country.

According to the professor Emilija: “The Slovenian language course for medical personnel is a specialized online program that offers the possibility of learning the Slovenian language for medical purposes. Doctors and medical staff will have the opportunity to learn the Slovenian language for everyday use and effective interaction at the workplace with patients, colleagues and other team members. We expect that the participants will successfully pass the C1 level exam and be able to start working in healthcare institutions in Slovenia.”

The Slovenian course for medical personnel helps foreign specialists integrate into the Slovenian medical environment. Such a course will be useful for doctors, dentists, nurses, physiotherapists, gynecologists, therapists, rehabilitation therapists, psychologists and other health workers.
